How crypto swaps work: rates, fees and the quote you confirm

A crypto swap converts one coin into another at a quoted rate. The three numbers that matter are the rate, the fee, and the minimum you will receive. On Revon, swaps happen inside your account: you see all three numbers before confirming, the quote is signed and expires after a short time, and the conversion settles instantly in your balance.

What a swap actually is

A swap sells one asset and buys another in a single step. Instead of selling Bitcoin for dollars and then buying Ethereum, you convert BTC directly into ETH at the current market rate.

On some platforms a swap is a blockchain transaction routed through a decentralised exchange. On Revon it is an account conversion: the trade happens inside Revon, so there is no blockchain wait and no network gas fee on top.

The three numbers that matter

Rate: how much of the new coin you get per unit of the old one, based on the live market price.

Fee: the platform's charge, shown as a percentage before you confirm. Revon's current swap fee is listed on the fees page.

Minimum received: the worst-case amount you will get. If the market moves against you while you decide, you still receive at least this amount — or the quote expires and nothing happens.

Why quotes expire

Crypto prices move every second. A quote is only fair if it reflects the price at the moment you trade, so quotes carry a short expiry.

Revon signs each quote so it cannot be altered between the screen and the settlement, and refuses to settle a quote that has expired or no longer meets the minimum you were shown.

Slippage and price impact

Slippage is the difference between the price you expected and the price you got. It grows with market volatility and with trade size relative to available liquidity.

A guaranteed minimum received is the practical protection: it turns slippage from a surprise into a number you agreed to.

How to swap on Revon

Open Swap, choose the coin you pay with and the coin you want, and enter an amount.

Review the rate, fee and minimum received, then confirm before the quote expires. The new balance appears instantly.
